As a general rule, an adult full-front design sits between 10 and 12 inches wide, a left-chest logo between 3 and 4 inches wide, and a youth print at roughly 70 to 80 percent of the adult size. File guidance

For the best results, EazyDTF recommends a PNG file with a transparent background at 300 DPI, sized to the transfer being ordered. Artwork does not need to be mirrored, because DTF film prints right-reading. Transparent backgrounds matter because any background color in the file will print as part of the transfer. Artwork prepared at a lower resolution and then enlarged can appear soft at the edges once pressed.

Application settings

EazyDTF’s published application settings for its DTF transfers are 300 to 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure. The carrier film is peeled cold, and the transfer is then re-pressed for 5 to 10 seconds with a finishing sheet to improve wash durability. No weeding or masking is required. The transfers can be applied to cotton, polyester, blends, denim, canvas and other fabrics, and to light or dark garment colors.

“People coming from vinyl are usually surprised that there is nothing to weed,” Manelis said. “You line it up, press it, let it cool and peel. The fine lines and small text stay on the film exactly where they were printed.”

When to move to a gang sheet

As an order grows, a gang sheet often becomes the lower-cost option. EazyDTF’s gang sheets are 22.5 inches wide, run from 22.5 x 24 inches at $14 to 22.5 x 300 inches at $142, and are priced per sheet rather than per design. A customer who needs many small transfers, or a mix of logos, names and numbers, can place all of them on a single sheet and cut them apart after printing. Customers who are unsure which option fits their order can compare the per-piece price by size against the price of the smallest gang sheet that would hold the same designs.
