Loop Capital Expands Athlete Wealth and Family Office Platform, Bringing Institutional Scale Through Life Line Transaction
PR Newswire
CHICAGO, Oct. 8, 2026
Transaction unites high-touch wealth and family office services with Loop Capital’s growing wealth platform, combining personal service with institutional resources to help athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs and executives build, protect and preserve generational wealth.
CHICAGO, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Loop Capital and Life Line Holdings today announced that they have closed an asset transfer agreement covering specified assets from Life Line’s wealth management and family office businesses. The transaction expands Loop’s growing wealth and family office platform and advances the firm’s strategy of serving athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, executives and families whose financial lives increasingly extend beyond traditional investment management.

The transaction is intended to preserve the personal service Life Line clients value while connecting transitioning clients to Loop’s broader investment resources, specialized expertise and institutional capabilities. Founded by Humble Lukanga, Life Line built its business around close client relationships and high-touch financial stewardship across sports, entertainment and business.
For nearly 30 years, Loop Capital has been guided by a client-first philosophy. Jim Reynolds founded the firm in 1997 on the guiding principle, “To provide client service beyond expectations,” and that focus remains central as Loop expands its wealth and family office platform.
“Successful athletes and entertainers are often building significant wealth at the same time they’re managing demanding careers, business opportunities, family responsibilities and decisions that can have consequences for decades,” said Jim Reynolds, founder, chairman and CEO of Loop Capital. “They need more than investment products or performance reports. They need people who understand the full picture, can bring the right resources together and can help them make informed decisions about how to protect, manage and grow what they are building now, and preserve it long after their playing or performing careers end.”
“Life Line was built around knowing our clients personally, understanding what matters to them and serving them with care and integrity,” said Humble Lukanga, founder and owner of Life Line Holdings. “This next chapter gives transitioning clients the opportunity to maintain that personal approach while gaining access to Loop’s broader capabilities and resources.”
A Client-First Philosophy, Built Over Nearly 30 Years
Loop’s approach to wealth management reflects the same client focus that has shaped the firm since its founding. It begins with understanding each client’s priorities, aspirations and long-term goals and bringing together the resources needed to support the growth, preservation and transfer of wealth across generations.
For clients transitioning from Life Line, Loop’s wealth management platform is designed to coordinate the financial, planning and administrative needs that often accompany complex wealth, while drawing on the broader capabilities of Loop Capital
Institutional Capabilities for a Broader Wealth Platform
Founded in Chicago in 1997, Loop has grown from six professionals into a global financial services firm with nearly 300 professionals and over $12 billion in assets under management, including Loop’s general partnership interest in JLC Infrastructure. Its businesses span investment banking, capital markets, asset management, financial consulting, sports and entertainment advisory and wealth management. The firm reports $7 trillion in debt and equity underwriting mandates since inception.
Loop Wealth brings the institutional capabilities, relationships and perspective of Loop Capital to the personal financial lives of individuals and families across wealth management, family office services, sports and entertainment and financial education.
From Earning Wealth to Building Ownership
Loop has long combined financial discipline with an entrepreneurial approach to helping clients preserve and grow wealth. For example, in 2021, Reynolds assembled an athlete-led group that included Charles Barkley, Devin Booker, Derrick Rose and D’Angelo Russell to finance the growth and national expansion of Coco5, a coconut-water-based hydration company. The investment drew on relationships Reynolds has built in the sports world as an adviser, mentor and investment partner to professional athletes. That work was highlighted in a 2025 Inc. profile that described Loop as the “biggest Black-owned investment bank in the world” and explored Reynolds’ efforts to help athletes think beyond their playing careers toward investment, ownership and long-term wealth creation.
That ownership strategy continues to define Loop’s approach. A July 2026 Forbes article, ‘The Rise of the Athlete Investing Collective,’ highlighted Loop’s efforts to connect athletes with private-market opportunities and longer-term wealth creation. Loop’s athlete-led Coco5 was designed to help athletes participate as owners and investors, not simply endorsers.
Loop’s wealth platform also emphasizes financial education and client participation in decision-making with a focus on helping clients understand investment fundamentals, compounding, business structures, taxes, risk and long-term planning so they can participate actively in decisions rather than simply receiving recommendations.
“We want clients thinking not only about what they earn today, but about what they can own tomorrow,” Reynolds said. “Our goal is to connect personal advice with the resources to evaluate opportunities, manage complexity and build lasting family wealth.”
