The Sharon Quataert Team with Century 21 Apex will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new University Ave office on Thursday, October 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Representatives from the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and the City of Rochester are expected to take part in the ribbon-cutting, joined by real estate professionals from across the region, past and current clients, neighboring business owners, and members of the community. Light fare and drinks will be served, with time for networking and a short celebration of the team’s new home.

This summer, the firm relocated from its longtime headquarters in Greece, N.Y., to a late-19th-century industrial brick building on University Ave. The move places the team in the Culver-Winton stretch of University just east of the Neighborhood of the Arts, alongside businesses including Living Roots Winery, Metro Salon, Full Moon Vista Bike & Sport, Tony D’s, and Kin Event Space.

“After four decades of helping people buy and sell homes across this region, moving into a building with this much history felt right,” said Sharon Quataert, founder of The Sharon Quataert Team. “We wanted a space that reflects how we work, close to the neighborhoods we serve and open to anyone who wants to stop in. This corner of University Ave has real energy, and we are glad to be part of it.”

The new office gives the team more room for client consultations, agent training, and community events, and puts it in a more central location to better serve their clients across the Greater Rochester area.

“Our clients come from every part of Monroe County, and a lot of them are people we have worked with two or three times over the years,” said Brittany Quataert, who oversees buyer and listing strategy for the team. “The grand opening is our way of thanking them and introducing ourselves to a new set of neighbors at the same time.”

The relocation follows the team’s affiliation with Century 21 Apex, announced earlier this year. The affiliation expanded the group’s referral network, marketing tools, and back-office systems while keeping the same leadership, agents, and approach to client service that the team has built since Sharon Quataert Realty was founded in 2015.

“The pieces we added through Century 21 Apex are the ones clients never see, the systems and the reach,” said Brad Quataert, who manages brokerage operations and client service. “What they do see is the same team answering the phone. That was the whole point.”

Attendees can expect a short program at 4 p.m., followed by refreshments, tours of the renovated space, and open networking through 6 p.m. Street parking is available on University Ave and adjacent side streets.
