The NIPES Award of Excellence was established to recognize individuals whose work demonstrates distinction, originality, impact, leadership, innovation, and meaningful contributions across engineering, science, research, technology, sustainability, and related areas of professional achievement. Through this recognition, NIPES reaffirms its commitment to promoting credible, merit-based recognition of individuals whose accomplishments advance knowledge, strengthen professional practice, foster innovation, and contribute meaningfully to society.

A total of 86 applications were received during the second cycle of the 2026 awards. Following a structured multi-stage selection process involving administrative screening, eligibility review, assessment of supporting documentation, verification of submitted evidence, panel evaluation, validation of shortlisted applications, and final approval by the NIPES Awards Committee, six recipients were selected for recognition in their respective categories.

The recipients are:
1. Ayodimeji Emmanuel Aregbesola – Young Scientist of the Year
2. Priyatham Sanjeeva Reddy Ramidi – Outstanding Contribution to Research and Innovation
3. Philip Ugbede Ojo Onuche – Excellence in Chemical Processes and Green Chemistry
4. Joshua Albert Sackey – Young Engineer of the Year Award
5. Harrison Owoicho Ameh – Outstanding Contribution to Research and Innovation
6. Oluwabusuyi Adonis Fakanlu – Outstanding Sustainable Real Estate Developer

The recipients were selected in recognition of their documented achievements, professional or scholarly contributions, and the significance of their work within their respective fields. The evaluation considered the quality and relevance of the accomplishments presented, evidence of impact, innovation, leadership, professional excellence, and contributions to the advancement of each candidate’s area of research or professional practice.

The second cycle attracted applicants from diverse areas of engineering, science, research, innovation, sustainability, technology, and professional practice. The final selection of six recipients from 86 applications reflects the competitive nature of the process and underscores the Institute’s commitment to ensuring that its awards are conferred upon candidates whose records demonstrate credible distinction and well-supported achievement.

The NIPES Award of Excellence is administered through a formal evaluation and approval process designed to maintain the integrity of the recognition.
