Abstract Submissions, Registration, and Hotel Reservations Now Open for WORLDSymposium™ 2027

More than 2,000 participants from over 50 countries will gather in San Diego, January 31–February 4, to advance lysosomal and rare disease research.

As the largest international scientific meeting focused on lysosomal and related rare diseases, WORLDSymposium brings together more than 2,000 researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, regulatory professionals, and industry leaders from over 50 countries.

Since its founding in 2004, WORLDSymposium has evolved from a focused gathering of lysosomal disease researchers into a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary forum connecting basic science, translational research, clinical applications, regulatory strategy, and industry development. The annual scientific program examines the challenges involved in translating lysosomal disease research from laboratory discovery to human therapy.

Abstract Submissions Open Through October 1

The abstract submission portal is open through October 1, 2026, at 17:00 CDT. Abstracts received by the deadline will be reviewed by the WORLDSymposium Scientific Committee for potential platform or poster presentation. Notifications will be issued by November 2, 2026.

A separate Late-Breaking Abstract category will be available November 1–December 1, 2026, for investigators with new and impactful data that was not available by the primary submission deadline.

Award Nominations Open Through September 1

Nominations for the 2027 WORLDSymposium Awards are open through September 1, 2026. The annual Roscoe O. Brady Award, Patient Advocate Leader Award, New Treatment Award, and Catalyst Award recognize achievement in scientific innovation, advocacy, therapeutic development, and emerging leadership.

Registration and Hotel Reservations

General registration is now open at worldsymposia.org. Attendees are encouraged to register early and reserve accommodations within the official room block at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are expected to fill quickly.
