SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Stone Security, a BearCom company, has been named SDM Magazine’s 2026 Systems Integrator of the Year, one of the security integration industry’s most prestigious honors.
Established in 2004, SDM’s Systems Integrator of the Year award recognizes an integrator for success, innovation, best practices, growth, and industry accomplishments, as well as its impact on customers, employees, and the broader security community. This marks Stone’s second win, following its first in 2020, placing Stone among an elite group of companies to receive the award twice.
While the recognition reflects Stone Security’s accomplishments, it also represents something bigger: the expanded capabilities we can now bring to customers as part of one company.
One Partner. End-to-End Capabilities.
Today, Stone Security combines its enterprise physical security expertise with BearCom’s nationwide critical communications capabilities, creating a differentiated platform for customers that need more than individual security or communications technologies.
Together, BearCom and Stone can help customers connect detection, communication and response across their operations and organizations – bringing traditionally separate systems and teams together through a single partner.
That means our over 30,000 customers can increasingly turn to BearCom for a broader range of critical technology needs across video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, mobile surveillance, two-way radio and push-to-talk communications, in-building coverage, BDA/DAS, private wireless networks, coordinated detection and response, and emergency notification systems.
“Our first SDM Systems Integrator of the Year award in 2020 was an incredible milestone for Stone. Receiving it again six years later, after everything we have accomplished together, makes this recognition especially meaningful,” said Brent Edmunds, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President – Security at BearCom and co-founder of Stone Security.
“Stone has grown dramatically, and joining forces with BearCom has allowed us to expand what we can deliver to customers. Today, we can bring together security and critical communications in ways that simply weren’t possible before. That combination gives our over 30,000 customers access to deeper expertise, broader capabilities and a more complete end-to-end technology partner.”
Connecting Detection to Response
The convergence of security and communications is already creating new opportunities for customers.
StoneConnect™ brings video surveillance, access control and other security systems together into coordinated workflows. LMRConnect™, a patent-pending integration, takes that concept further by connecting physical security events directly to land mobile radio networks.
For example, a forced door, video analytic event or other alarm can automatically generate a specific spoken message – including the location and event type – and deliver it directly to the appropriate radio channel.
The result is a more connected path from detection to communication to response, helping organizations get critical information to the right people when it matters most.
“Security technology continues to become more intelligent, but intelligence only creates value when it reaches the right person at the right time,” said Hubert de Pesquidoux, Executive Chairman and Interim CEO of BearCom and Executive Partner at Siris. “The combination of BearCom and Stone gives us a unique opportunity to connect detection, communication and response. More importantly, it gives our customers a partner capable of addressing these needs together rather than through disconnected technology solutions.”
Built for the Way Customers Operate
BearCom serves data centers, manufacturing, utilities, transportation and logistics, healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, construction, government, and public safety. Each solution is tailored to the environment’s operational demands, regulatory requirements, and risk profile. Customers can purchase integrated solutions for permanent operations or rent communications and security equipment for live events, construction projects, and industrial turnarounds, with expert planning, rapid deployment, and responsive on-site service. As Motorola Solutions’ largest partner, BearCom also maintains a top 5 strategic partner position with Milestone, Honeywell / LenelS2, and Axis Communications, pairing proven technologies with deep integration expertise.
“This recognition belongs to our people and the customers and partners who trust us,” Edmunds said. “Stone and BearCom have continued to grow without losing the culture, expertise and customer focus that got us here. Winning this award twice is something we are proud of, but the bigger opportunity is what it means for our customers. We can now bring together more capabilities, more expertise and more technology under one relationship – helping customers solve problems across security and communications from end to end.”
For BearCom’s over 30,000 customers, that expanded capability represents a fundamental advantage: one national partner with the local expertise and infrastructure to help connect the technologies that keep people, facilities and operations secure, connected and responsive.
